Assessment
In mathematics lesson, evaluation of students is based on exams, projects, participation and homework.
In one term, students are given three exams and in one year they take six exams. Therefore, each exam period represents one study term. For each exam, students take three quizzes. First quiz is solved in the classroom with the participation of students. Second quiz is given as homework. Third quiz is like the rehearsal of the exam.
Marks are given as follows,
- Three exam marks
- First oral mark for participation
- Second oral mark for Homework
- Third oral mark for project
Then, the mean of these marks are given as the grade of mathematics in the report card.
Homework
In mathematics lessons, homework notebook is inevitable. Each student must have homework notebook different from class notebook. By doing so, it is easy to check homework. Absolutely, Students are given daily homework.
Projects are also important for mathematics classes in TUIS. For each study period, projects are given at least two times in two weeks.
