Each class will have a prefect who will be responsible for minor duties, and act as class representative at specified times. Prefects will not be used to control or police other pupils.
The prefect:
• is a bridge between administration and the classroom.
• is responsible for the classroom when there is no teacher.
• is responsible for warning other pupils about school rules.
• should be a good example to the other pupils.
• takes and brings back the class register and attendance check list.
• reminds class teachers to sign attendance slips and other class documents.
• controls the duty students in the classroom.
• should update and control what is placed on the classroom notice board.
• will make up the rota of duty pupils for the class.
• will have a meeting each week.
Each class will have a duty student. The duty student will have simple duties to perform such as:
• cleaning the blackboard for the teacher.
• helping the teacher hand out materials to the class.
• helping encourage other pupils to keep the classroom tidy.
